This is the current version.
Conditions for photos of places
Version: foto-luoghi-2026-10-25 · Effective from: 25 October 2026
Service provider: WANDERMI S.R.L., registered office Viale Umbria 128, 20135 Milano (MI), Italy · VAT no. and tax code (P.IVA e C.F.) 14880440962 · REA MI-2813220 · certified email (PEC) wandermi@namirialpec.it · Contact: legal@wandermi.com
These Conditions apply only if you upload a photo to a place's page with "I have a photo of this place". They add to the Wandermi Terms of Service; for photos of places, where they differ, these Conditions prevail. You accept them by ticking the box at your first upload: we record the version you accepted.
1. Who can upload
You can upload photos of places if your Wandermi account is at least 7 days old and you are at least 16.
2. What you declare
By uploading a photo you declare that:
- you took it yourself and have the right to grant us the licence in section 3;
- it shows no recognisable people, readable licence plates or readable personal data (documents, screens, names on signs, doorbells or letterboxes);
- if the photo shows works protected by other people's copyright — including contemporary works of art and architecture (for example buildings, bridges, installations, murals, recent sculptures) — you have the necessary permissions from the rights holders, or the works appear only incidentally in the scene and are not the subject of the photo (Italy has no general "freedom of panorama");
- it does not break the law or anyone else's rights (copyright, image rights, privacy).
3. The licence you grant us
- You remain the author of the photo and keep all your rights.
- You grant us a non-exclusive, free, worldwide licence, limited to showing the photo within the Wandermi service (app, website, public place pages and link previews), with your username as the author, and to making the technical copies needed (different sizes, caches).
- The licence ends when you remove the photo or delete your account: the photo stops being shown within one day. We cannot recover copies or screenshots already made by others.
- Photos published in the service may not be copied, bulk-downloaded or reused by other users or third parties outside the service, in particular for commercial purposes, without the consent of the author and of the other rights holders. Wandermi grants no one any licence to your photos.
4. Advertising and paid products
We do not use your photos in advertising, campaigns or promotional materials outside the service, or in paid products (for example printed albums), without your separate consent.
5. How we check photos
- Before publication an automated check (artificial intelligence) verifies that the photo shows the place and complies with section 2.
- If the photo is not published, we tell you why, that the decision is automated, and how to ask a person on our team for a review.
- Reports are always examined by a person on our team.
6. Reports
- Anyone who sees a photo of a place can report it in the app, giving the reason (for example: not this place, recognisable people, "I am in this photo", third-party copyright, request from the body in charge of the site, personal data, inappropriate content) and declaring that they report in good faith. People without an account can write to legal@wandermi.com with the link to the photo, the reason, their name and email address, and a declaration that they report in good faith.
- Normally, as soon as a report arrives from the app, the photo is suspended (no longer visible). We do not suspend it automatically if the same person had already reported it, if the photo had already been checked and restored (except for "I am in this photo", copyright and site-custodian reports), or if the reporter's account is less than 7 days old. In every case a person on our team decides, normally within 48 hours, whether to remove the photo or keep or restore it.
- We tell you by email (to the verified address of your account) and with an in-app notification about every suspension or removal: the measure, its duration, the facts, any use of automated means, the section of these Conditions applied and your remedies.
- The person who reports receives an acknowledgement and the outcome. We do not tell the author who reported.
- If someone repeatedly sends manifestly unfounded reports, after a warning we may stop processing their reports for a reasonable period.
7. Acceptance record
To be able to prove the licence in case of a dispute we keep, for each published photo, your user identifier, a digital fingerprint of the file (not the photo), the date and time, and the version of these Conditions. The record is kept while the photo is published and for up to 10 years after its removal.
8. What you can do
- Remove a photo at any time from "My place photos", and remove the "Taken on site" label.
- Contest a decision by replying to the email you received or writing to legal@wandermi.com: a person on our team will review it.
- In any case, bring the matter before the competent ordinary courts under the law.
9. Liability
You are responsible, under the law, for the photos you upload. These Conditions do not limit the rights the law gives you as a consumer, nor the liability the law places on us.
10. Changes
If we change these Conditions, the new version applies to photos you upload after accepting it. For photos already uploaded, the version you accepted continues to apply, unless a change is required by law: in that case we tell you in advance and you can remove your photos.
